How to Share Content with MailChimp

Step-by-Step Guide for uploading and sharing your Retirement Plan Marketing content to MailChimp.

Blog Articles

  • Select the 'Campaigns' tab
  • Select the orange button "Create Campaign" and select "Email"
  • Under “Regular” type in the campaign name (Name of content)
  • Update your “To” and “From” fields
  • Open the Word document "Email Template + Social + Website Copy" for the blog article
  • Copy and paste the subject line and preview text into the editor
  • Under “Content” select “Design Email” (Classic Builder if given the option)
  • Under “Saved Templates”, select your template
  • Update your headline image
    • Select the header image, then “Replace”
    • Select “Upload” then drag and drop your headline image into the editor. Insert it
  • Copy and paste the email body copy from the Word document into the editor
  • Double check the formatting, you should follow your own brand's fonts and font sizes. If you prefer to use our branding, it is Open Sans size 14
  • Click the call-to-action button and click 'Link to' > Web address’
  • Add your blog link from your website, then click Save & Close
  • Once the email template it filled out, send yourself a test email. Click " Preview" > "Send Test Email"
  • Once reviewed, click "Continue"
  • Send now or schedule for a later date

Newsletter/Plan Sponsor Guide/Participant Infographic

  • Select the 'Campaigns' tab
  • Select the orange button "Create Campaign" and select "Email"
  • Under “Regular” type in the campaign name (Name of content)
  • Update your “To” and “From” fields
  • Open the Word document "Email Template + Social + Website Copy" for the newsletter/plan sponsor guide/participant infographic
  • Copy and paste the subject line and preview text into the editor
  • Under “Content” select “Design Email” (Classic Builder if given the option)
  • Under “Saved Templates”, select your template
  • Update your headline image
    • Select the header image, then “Replace”
    • Select “Upload” then drag and drop your headline image into the editor. Insert it
  • Copy and paste the email body copy from the Word document into the editor

  • Click the call-to-action button and click 'Link to' > ‘File’
  • Add your PDF, then click Save & Close
  • Once the email template it filled out, send yourself a test email. Click " Preview" > "Send Test Email"

  • Copy and paste the link to view your video (YouTube or Vimeo). If you do not have capabilities to use YouTube or Vimeo, please contact us and we will provide you with a link
  • Once the email template it filled out, send yourself a test email. Click " Preview" > "Send Test Email"
  • Once reviewed, click "Continue"
  • Send now or schedule for a later date
