How to Share Content on LinkedIn

Sharing Directly to LinkedIn:

  • Go to the Retirement Plan Marketing portal and navigate to Ongoing Digital Content
  • Download the blog article, headline image and email/social media copy for the article you are going to post
  • On LinkedIn, select “Write Article” at the top of your homepage
  • Drag and drop the headline image of the article you are sharing
  • Copy and paste the title of the article into the Headline box
  • Copy and paste the body of blog article where it says “Write here” – Once pasted, update any formatting errors
  • At the bottom of the article (before citations), add your signature and disclosures
  • At the top of the page, select “Publish”
  • Open the Email + Social Copy document you downloaded from the portal and copy the social media callout and hashtags into the post box
  • Select “Publish” in the lower right-hand corner
  • To re-share on your company page, navigate to your published post and select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and then select “Copy Link to Post”
  • Go to your company page on the left-hand tool bar and paste that link into your company’s “Start a Post” feature at the top of the page, select “Post”
  • Note: If you’re not ready to post, LinkedIn will automatically save your article into drafts so you can come back later and share it when you’re ready.

 

PDFs (Newsletter, Plan Sponsor Guide, Participant Infographic + Social Cards)

Sharing Directly to LinkedIn as a File:

  • Go to the Retirement Plan Marketing portal and navigate to Ongoing Digital Content
  • Download the content and email/social media copy for the content you are going to post
  • On LinkedIn, select “Start a Post” at the top of your homepage
  • In the lower left-hand corner, select the third icon from the right, “Add a Document”
  • Select “Choose File” and choose the downloaded content
  • Open the Email + Social + Web Copy document you downloaded from the portal and copy the social media callout and hashtags into the post box
  • Select “Post” in the lower left-hand corner
  • To re-share on your company page, navigate to your published post and select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and then select “Copy Link to Post”
  • Go to your company page on the left-hand tool bar and paste that link into your company’s “Start a Post” feature at the top of the page, select “Post”

Sharing Directly to LinkedIn as a link to your website:

  • Go to your website and copy the page link to the content you wish to post
  • On LinkedIn, select “Start a Post” at the top of your homepage
  • Paste the link into the text box
  • Open the Email + Social Copy document you downloaded from the portal and copy the social media callout and hashtags into the post box
  • Delete the link in the copy
  • Select “Post” in the lower left-hand corner

 

Videos

Sharing Directly to LinkedIn as a Video

  • Go to the Retirement Plan Marketing portal and navigate to Ongoing Digital Content
  • Download the video and email/social media copy for the content you are going to post
  • On LinkedIn, select “Start a Post” at the top of your homepage
  • In the lower left-hand corner, select the second icon from the right, “Add a Video”
  • Select “Choose File” and choose the downloaded content from the portal
  • Open the Email + Social Copy document you downloaded from the portal and copy the social media callout and hashtags into the post box
  • Select “Post” in the lower left-hand corner
  • To re-share on your company page, navigate to your published post and select the three dots in the upper right-hand corner and then click “Copy Link to Post”
  • Go to your company page on the left-hand tool bar and paste that link into your company’s “Start a Post” feature at the top of the page, select “Post”
